MVP4Life: Youth Mentorship Programs for Future Leaders
Become a Youth Challenge Academy Mentor/Coach!
The Youth Challenge Academy is a military-based, residential program for at-risk youth aged 16-18 that aims to help them earn a high school diploma or equivalent and develop life, job, and leadership skills. Participants typically go through an acclimation phase, a five-month residential phase, and a post-residential phase involving mentorship to achieve their goals. These programs are often affiliated with the National Guard and are designed to provide structure, discipline, and support to help young people overcome challenges and build a more successful future.

Become a Sports For Juvenile Justice (SJJ) Mentor/Coach!
SJJ Places adjudicated youth in structured sports leagues for character development and recidivism reduction. Weekly sessions build mentorship with coaches. This is in collaboration with U.S. Attorney’s Office, Family Court, DHS, and The Northeast Treatment Centers. This multi-agency effort focuses on placing adjudicated youth (typically ages 12–17) into structured sports-based youth development programs as an alternative to deeper involvement in the juvenile justice system, emphasizing skills like resilience, conflict resolution, and goal-setting through activities such as basketball and fitness drills. SJJ has served hundreds of youth since inception, with participants showing improved engagement in education and reduced disciplinary issues (per DHS evaluations). It's free, court-referred, and often leads to case expungement upon completion.

Performing arts youth programs offer children and teens opportunities to explore theater, music, dance, and performance through classes, workshops, camps, and productions. These initiatives focus on building confidence, creativity, and collaboration skills while providing accessible, inclusive experiences. We serve ages 10–18, with options for beginners to advanced performers.

6th through 8th grade youth. Middle school youth transitioning to high school are at a higher risk for disengaging from learning as they face challenges in forming identity, coping with changes, and navigating new environments. Middle school youth may also have unrealistic career plans, know little about the demands of the workplace, and/or how their education choices relate to future careers. Our approach allows for the exploration, skill building, and planning of their future. Youth participating in this program will be preparing an alternative to the streets. Program delivery will include options for Sports Management, Multimedia Productions, Business Development, and S.T.E.A.M Careers.
